Album Info:
The Merci Train, also known as the French Gratitude Train, was a 1949 "thank you" gift to the US from the citizens of France. The train was made up 49 boxcars cars filled with gifts. Forty-eight of the boxcars were sent to each of the 48 states and the contents of the 49th was to be divided between the District of Columbia and Hawaii.
